Started in 1997 by Librarians Julie Bartel and Brooke Young, the SLCPL has continued to collect zines through donations and events such as the Alt Press Fest, which just celebrated its 10th anniversary. What are zines? Why are they important to libraries? Do patrons actually read them? We will discuss all of this and more! This tour will highlight the City Library's zine collection and cataloging, Special Collections, and architectural "highlights" of the Main Library including the roof top garden (weather permitting).
